Running Running

Gracie is getting good exercise, even on cold days!

Saturday Breakfast and More

Talking on the phone to Mimi.

Yummy breakfast made by my awesome hubby! FRENCH toast.

We introduced Gracie to Nutella. She was one happy camper!

One of Anna's favorite activities is pulling toys out of the basket.

Playing with the magnadoodle is serious business!

Trip To The Bakery

Gracie loves to push the button for the elevator.
Anna is happy to be getting out!

We live on the first floor (what would be the second floor in the US). The mailboxes are down on the ground level outside the elevator.

Gracie was trying to walk with her hands in her pockets like Daddy.

Cars here are tiny!

At the bakery!

Our purchase.

We are loving the fall color. We hear it won't be around long.

Enjoying our purchase!

Sleepy Girls

Can you tell we had to wake them up?!
Thankfully, this picture is from a couple days ago. The past two nights have been much better! I think we are starting to get on this time zone.

The Baguette

Yum! Yes, it tastes as good as it looks. I think we will be eating lots of these during our stay in France!

The Train Park

We have a park right outside our apartment building. We can actually see part of it from our balcony. Gracie is thrilled to have a park so close!

There is another playground that is for bigger kids too.

Trying to keep Anna warm!

Our Neighborhood and Beyond

Our apartment is on the 2nd floor. This picture is looking towards our balcony (you can see the 3rd and 4th floor balconies right above ours). Our bedroom windows are on the side of the building.
This is a little park area just outside our building.

The front entrance to our building.

The view of our building from a traffic circle on the main street.

That's our street sign!

Snow is already on the mountains

Here's a bike trail right by our building.

The "Chateau de Boigne" which is where our language school is at. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from our apartment.

The fall color is beautiful to us.
The chateau is located in a very pretty park.

The main street near the chateau.

The "red" pavement is like a crosswalk. Apparently when walking on it you have the right-of-way.

Back at our apartment complex.

A neighborhood near our apartment building.

The Girls

Gracie sitting on her suitcase saying the words to the book Madeline. This is in the airport while we waited for our bus to France (we had to wait 2.5 hours).

Giggles from sweet Anna!

This is just this morning.

Thanks to everyone who has been asking how the girls are doing. The both seem to be adjusting well. The time change has been the hardest. But last night we slept much better! We are very thankful. For the most part the girls seem to feel like this is home. Kids adapt so quickly! We know that Gracie will start to miss many people and places in California, but for now she is happy to have her toys, Anna, and Mommy and Daddy! Oh and we have a playground very close to our apartment, so that is a huge plus for Gracie.

The Grand Tour

Here's a tour of our apartment:

Our front door

Standing in the front door looking down the hall.

First room on the right is Gracie and Anna's room.

I am pleasently surprised that we have closets in our bedrooms!

Second door on the right is our bedroom.

Two doors on the left are the bathrooms.

At the end of the hall is our living room and dining room.

The end of the hall on the left is the kitchen.

Our washing machine and water heater are in the kitchen as well.

Pantry at the end of the hall.

Here is our phone! I like it. And we have unlimited calling to the US, so I'll be talking to many of you soon. If you call us, just keep the 9 hour time difference in mind!
