Our Thanksgiving Table

Thanksgiving isn't a holiday here in France (we had school today), but we are still celebrating! We miss being with family, but are looking forward to celebrating with friends. We have so much to be thankful for!

Noël

Christmas is in full swing here in France! These are the ads that came in the mail yesterday. We get this many at least twice a week!

We are feelin' the love! Thanks Mimi, Pa and Jackie! You are the best.

Turkey Cookies

Grandma sent us a package of ingrediants to make the White Family's traditional Turkey Cookies for Thanksgiving! You can't buy candy corn, red hots, peanut butter cups, or tootsie rolls, so it was a fun treat!

Gracie's favorite part was eating her little cup of sugar...and the red hot candies!

The finished product!

What was really on Gracie's mind...sugar!

Care Package!

When you are living overseas, receiving a package from the US is just . . . well . . . wonderful! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for making our day!

Candy for making turkey cookies, chocolate chips, mac n cheese!

Gracie was the most excited about the mac 'n cheese! She ate two bowls for lunch :).

Visit to the doctor

Our little Anna was not feeling well last week and started to run a really high fever, so we took her to the doctor on Friday. We were nervous about how things would go because our French is so limited, but the Lord provided just what we needed (a friend to give us some key words to use and a doctor who knew a little English!). Doctor's offices here in France are VERY different than in the States. We had a little difficulty finding the office, so were thankful we arrived a little early. The office we went to was just an apartment in a large apartment building. One room was a waiting area. The other room was where the doctor saw us. The doctor does everything. She makes appointments, brings you to the room, does the exam and takes your payment. A one man/woman show. While our experience was very different than what we would have experienced in the US, we felt like we could trust the doctor and she was able to get us the medication that we needed for Anna! God's care for us is so perfect.

Sick Anna in the stroller after walking home from the doctor.

So snuggly when she is sick.

And MUCH happier the next morning!
*A little disclaimer. I know that a picture is worth a million words, but we decided not to take pictures of the doctor's office. Just think what you would think of someone who was taking pictures in your doctor's office while you waited in the waiting room. Since we will probably be seeing this doctor again, we decided we'd rather not make that impression!

Carousel

There is a fun carousel downtown! We went down there for a ride yesterday.

A view of the Alps on our walk home.

Well, there isn't a ton new here. Justin and I are really enjoying school and are thankful to be able to learn. Every day we learn more of the language and culture here. Many times it is fun, sometimes it is really challenging! But we are content to be in the capable hands of the Lord.

This is the parking lot of the store where we do most of our grocery shopping. We love the mountains here!
Gracie is enjoying making new friends.

New boots! It has rained a lot here the past few days, so Gracie got in all her gear to go out in the rain.

And here is Anna . . . drool and all! Poor girl. I can't seem to keep her dry no matter what I do!
