Paris Day 1

We just got back from a trip to Paris, just the two of us, and had a great time! Jamie's Mom is here visiting and graciously watched the girls so we could go see the city.

Our room was on the 5th (6th in the U.S.) floor and reminded us of Mary Poppins

The Tonic Hotel du Louvre - it was in the center of the city and an easy walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame, and many other places!

Typical Paris street scene.

The Pyramid at the Louvre

Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel (the "mini" Arch du Triomphe that's near the Louvre)

Eiffle Tower from Jardin des Tuileries

Parisians (and tourists) enjoying the beautiful sunshine in the Jardin des Tuileries with the Louvre in the background.

Place de la Concorde looking up Champs Elysees with the "big" Arc du Triomphe in the background

Black is in Style in France

We happened to see a fashion show getting out and the Paperrazi were out in force

Palais de l'Elysee where the President lives

The Seine River with Ile de la Cite in the background

View of the Left Bank at sunset

Notre-Dame

The Right Bank

My Beautiful Bride

Notre-Dame catching the Alpin glow

The famous gargoules (apparently added in the 19th Century)

It was quite the impressive building

Inside is an odd mix of tourists taking pictures amidst the start of Mass

A merry-go-round at Hotel de Ville (the city hall)
